I have eight Black Eyed White Ferret Kits.
Both parents are soft ass hell,
but good workers.
They wont be ready for three weeks.
I'll be putting an add in the free ads for £30 each'
( and they'll sell ).
£20 to IFF members, Cheaper if you want a pair.
Will post pics when their older.
Thanks.

The parents are DEW's.

I have 2 DEW gills, 1 DEW hob, 1 silver hob.

I paid £30 for each one.

They don't look like albino's with dark eyes.
Their fur is a lot whiter and they've got tiny black high lights.
When they've got their winter coat, their fur looks almost metallic.
It's hard to explain, but their beautiful looking and different.

I like to call them " Posh ferrets " HA HA.

I will put pics up when their a bit older.

Cheers.

Deke

I put my silver hob to my albino jill, any albino type young always have the red eyes - dont think the silver gene crosses to the albino to produce a dark-eyed "albino" white. As Gentle says the DEW will not be the same white colour as the albino. My silver young always have the dark eyes though.

Last year I had 3 albino, 3 silver and 3 polecat colours in the litter, I get a right variety!! My jill is about to drop any day now so fingers crossed for more silvers this time around.

Cheers for that Mike, just that I have a d.e.w. in season at the moment, would like to breed her against an albino hob to hopefully get 1 or 2 dews. Deke

Hmmm.

Personally, I think I'd put her with a poley and cross my fingers.
I think the genes are stronger in the males.
But I could be wrong.

Can't you find a stud ?

You can borrow my hob, your local ish lol.

Mikey, How silver are your silvers ?
Most of the silvers I've seen look like poleys.

Got any pics ?

I sold black eyed whites for £100+ each last year.. and could have sold a 100 if i had that many

Biggest market was American kids living in the UK.
seems its a bit of a fashion thing..

I used to breed black eyed whites and personally love them for hawk work. Also think £30 is a fair price for a good well handled youngster, if people can be pursuaded to pay that much they are much more likely to treat them with the respect they deserve.

This jill looks a bit older here, cant find one of them as an adult though to show the end colour.

Very nice mate.

The two eating the boot are awsome.

They look real killers.

If we lived closer, I'd love one of them off you.

Thanks for that.

A couple of silvers I rehomed for a friend last year.

Bet you had no trouble rehoming them.

Why is it even the tamest ferret will bite your feet, given half the chance.

My feelings exactly.

I know of people that "stock up" on ferrets "free to good home" this time of year.
If the ferret lies up or kills in it simply gets left.

A few pics of the girls.
These pics don't do them justice.
They are stunners when they've got their winter coats.

Before anyone says, I know ASDA trifle is no good for them,
But you try and keep her still.

this is very true, alot of folk just see them as hunting tools and not anythning else, ive seen falconers with state of the art mews and the best of everyhing for their birds but stinking hutches for the ferrets.

Hi All
im new to the forum so be gentle with me. Ive got to the thread for the Ferrets(dont know how). ive been trying to track down a couple for using with my redtail. When i were Lad you could pick them up all over the place, not so easy now. im looking for advice on whats best, cobs or gills and if possible can someone point me in the right direction for purchasing a couple. Not bothered whether polcats or albino. Any advice would be welcome as its been 25 years since ive had ferrets.

A few more.

Some of them look like silvers. Even better.
Wish I was closer. Would love to cross some silver into my line.
Good luck with them.

I'm coming over to Stockport in 5 weeks to pick my mates RT up. If you have any silver jills left and can get them there let me know.
George.

Thats what I thought too George. Gentle do they turn pure white as they mature, sure the pics of your adults were white.

I've got 7 out of 10 silvers this year so a good year for me, other 3 are albino. :supz:

I gave a great silver hob away last year and really regret it Mike.

You are another one too far away.

You are right, the father of this bunch was a silver.

Two of the young have silver markings and some are pure white.
When they were younger my jills had a silver streak down their backs,
but they lost it as they grew.

The adult DEW's that I have are pure white, but when you look at them closely they have tiny black high lights running through their coat.
I think this is normal for DEW's as my hob and two jills have them.

Someone told me a while back that DEW's were silvers that had the silver markings bred out of them.
I don't know if this is right or not.

If I lived closer the man I'd like a ferret off is LSD1.
He posted pics of very nice kits a while back.

You are right, silvers come in all shades from dark to what we call DEWs, I've never seen a DEW that hasn't got or has never had dark hairs in its coat. Mike.
