The first peregrine hatched out perfectly on time and in good shape from the Z6 incubator...so far so good...
By the way the falcons we breed are for sale parent reared, wild hacked and imprints

Aw...very cute Dan, but the first picture is rather undignified! It looks like a wet DOC! lol
I'm sure he/she will turn into a beauty!
All the best!
Wow it look so fragile at that stage.

Congratulations.
My second peregrine chick hatched yesterday. I can always tell when the first chick hatches--both parents leave the nest scrape and look at it as if to say, "what the hell has happened to our eggs!!". They spend time away from the chicks even when they are very young; it worries me to death but they seem to be ok.

Thanks guys for the comments :supz:
Yes Ken it is crush corn. I was supprised to see two other eggs in the ferrutails nest other than the trhee in the incubator. So I'll keep you updated on them.
The second peregrine failed to hatched but the third hatched out so I now have two peregrines. I can tell one is a female the other looks to be a tiercel. They will be back in nest by friday or saturday.
My HH's are not breeding yet, funny thing as another breeder I know is having the same problem due to cold weather we are having in eastern canada he said...they kind of hold back !? only one out of four of his eggs hatched out from the first pair, the other pairs (3) are on the standby mode for better condition maybe
Lets hope
