peregrines my fave bird, its actually the fave of all muslims maybe coz of the ancestral link, coz our ancestors used to keep them for hunting from the middle east to asia

If you want to start on falconry I would say a Harris hawk... There's no comparison between harris and peregrines! Harris are easier to train and to care...

it depends,on what land you hav available, time, and wether you could do the bird justice especially as its your first you might make alot of mistake you can't correct but then you don't want to train a harris, cock it up then sell it just to gain experience.have you got anyone local to help?

c if he'll go out and let you fly it under his guidance and training. at least the wouldn't b another harris trained but not wanted for sale.perhaps he'd take u on as a apprentice if your lucky

Normally the best way to start would be a harris, or a bird of that kind... Nothing stops you to start with a peregrine, but I think would be like taking your driving test on a F1...
But, if it's a trained bird, if you have someone to help you, and you're willing to take a chance, it's on you. I bet there's a lot of people around here that can help more then I do, cause I'm not a falconer, I only train birds to do demonstrations.

The bird I'm holding it's a 4 year old, female Harpy Eagle...

thanks mate, he is actually a very nice guy, he said he will do it for free, and i said no it wouldnt be right and he didnt like that, that was before i knew he had a bird for sale.

its our brianm here mate, see i sent him a pm yesterday and asked him if he was the same brian selling a harris hawk a few weeks back, i saw an advert in a birdmart and the person was just outside glasgow, and he said aye thats him, and i asked him when the times comes when im fully trained, would u have another harris hawk for sale coz he sold the other one ages ago.

he said not at all bud, i only have a peregrine for sale , i need experience for that, well i was very tempted

coz before i knew he had a peregrine he told me to come up to his house when the next time im at my sisters house, its only 5 to 7 mins away from where he stays, and he would def show me how to handle and look after the birds

very nice of him and a bonus that he has a peregrine and im tempted :D

good think is he is only a 20 min run from my house

I'm supposing that he has what it takes to own and care a bird, either a harris or a peregrine!

That bird is priceless... I haven't seen one on sale yet! And I think I won't see it so soon.
