Great pic.
How do find them working with your hawk.
Mines eight months old and works the roughest cover, still learning obviously, and desperately trying to get her to stop running in, getting there slowly.

Just hope she gets on with the hawk later this year.

Yip I know the springers go in the brambles whether there is something or not. My Brit will only go near them if he can scent quarry.

Fantastic dogs eh Hawkman?,
mine has started scenting very thick brambles before she goes in. I was worried at first that she was not wanting to face the cover so I started to beat the brambles to see if she had missed anything, as if I knew better than a dogs nose!...she never has been wrong yet.
If she gets a scent however she's straight in no messing. I'm also very lucky with her size she is only 15 inches at the shoulder, very small for a springer. She is however bred in the purple and her pedigree is full of FTCh's,not a guarantee I know, but it shows you are always better buying from working stock.
Do you drop your springer once she has flushed?

she drops on her own mate...her pedegree is excelent all from ftc stock fi but all im interested in is how she works with me and the birds although it is nice when you see all those letters on the pedegree papers . ive tried once to call her out of cover to my regret cause there was bunnies in there .ya gotta trust that nose
