Mick Kanes Gosses are £800 for males and about £2000 for large females, As much as I love gosses I think the prices maybe spiralling out of control??

Mick is a great chap and will be more than willing to give you sound advice. I've spoken to him on the phone and via email. Here's a link to a site with some pics and details of his birds, also his contact email address as well. Hope this helps, but get in there quick if you want to order one!!!

I met Mick Kane once, he lives alone in the woods, no gas, no electric, only birds and dogs for company! Oh! And he's half man, half Goshawk! pmsl!!

Sound Billy, thanks.
Your a bit of a celeb then mate! lol!!
You'll find a few references to your good self in 1 or 2 threads. You better get ready for all the questions, there's quite a few Gos men on here. Mind you one of them keeps a CB and thinks he's an expert, I think his name's Martin or something.

I wish someone would explain to me what you fly a 3lb goshawk at? Sheep? Well, I suppose there are brown hares, but any other legitimate British quarry and a reasonable sized male, or a 2lb German would give more sport.
Of course, I don't know much about it but it seems to me a bit like going pheasant shooting with an 8 bore. Dragging around a damn great heavy weight which takes too long to line up is not my idea of fun!
Had Mick and his enormous imprints here a couple of years ago and they could not manage wild hatched pheasants and were beat after 200 yards, though they did manage to catch a couple of poults. Makes me laugh to think now that I actually imposed a bag limit!

Not sure why, my personal feeling is that some people get too obsessed with weights.
Sure, I haven't heard a bad report about Mick or his bird's, however, I honestly believe that most of it is in the bird's 'heart'.
If it has the 'heart' for it, it will be in there doing the job.
2lb8 or 3lb, it is still massively outweighed by some of the quarry that it is flown at.
I have seen small birds put large ones to shame & vice versa, if a bird has the confidence, the 'heart' and the experience under it's belt, it won't make a massive amount of difference.

LLL.
