View Full Version : Any Tips for Crow/Rook Hawk

im soon to get a 08 male gyrsaker falcon that i will be flying at crow as this will be the first falcon i have trained to take crow and rook i was wondering if any more experianced falconers could give me any tips ive flown othe falcons and been reading all the info on the forum but wanted to see if there was any fresh info and any info about gyrsaker hybrids and how they react thanx mitch

i find that making a bigger lure than a normall size gives them a bit more confidence when flying rook or crow a bit of drag luring from a distance dont go a miss either and try to slip her at a young un exsperianced crow first thats what i meant:yawinkle:

You could try buying a copy of 'Classical Falconry' by Nick Fox it will have all the info you need, have a look on ebay you may be lucky

good luck you might need to train doing 1000+ meter sprints but worth it .

ive already started training with my peresaker lol she follows on well runing hole fields will be well fit by the time i come to catching crows

Get the best telemetry you can buy and get used to using it, get fit, be picky with your slips and don't make any arrangment to go out after flying because you won't know what time you'll be home. Great fun, I was never fitter in my whole life than when I flew a female peresaker every day at crows, I was always late, covered in blood and would go strieght in the pub after hunting, happy days...
