Picked up Zulu when i was down at the fair. Hes a 3/4 Gyr/Saker flying around 1lb 14oz.
Got a gull with him last week. Out again on friday evening and spotted some gulls in the middle of a field. Slipped him and off he went over the hedge. Just then, a Hare rose below him and he put in 2 stoops, knocking the Hare onto its ass. He landed and they stared each other out for a few seconds, before the Hare trotted off. Glad, cos didnt fancy him being dragged around the field.
This afternoon, we found some gulls in a fresh cut field. Off he went, in the opposite direction. Gaining height till he musta been several hundred feet. I could hardly see him. Cursing, i jumped in the Landy and headed in his direction. Got to where i thought he was and got the telem out. Id went past him. About turn and back the way i came. Out again, he was still further back. Got back to where i slipped him, and there he was in the field with a gull. Missed the flight, but reckon hed seen the gulls from the off, and went out to get height and powered back in and nabbed one. Teach me to be more patient next time.

Today - 1lb 13 1/2oz.

Large flock of gulls 3 fields away. Put him up and he flew into the wind to gain height, then turned and put in a long shallow stoop at the gulls as they lifted. He jockeyed with one for a while, coming back the way he had came from, before finally nailing it above a little landfill site.
