Thanks Moritz

Not bad for the first one!!!
About what we talked the other day on MSN, here's a website that talks about
making hoods (http://www.americanfalconry.com/hoods.html)...

It's nothing really special, but you can get some ideas...

What a good website and really good tips! Frankly, |I would not ever consider making my own. Just too fiddly and I've seen birds with hoods a fraction too small causing eyes to get teary. Philip Glaisyer's book Falconry and Hawking has some patterns in.

Nice article that. I'm still going to leave it to the experts though!

I only know one hoodmaker that will gladly show novices how to make hoods, because it is a skill and art to do correctly. He knows most people are lazy and will just buy one off him after trying and seeing it is not as easy as it looks.

I've started eagle hoods and khan hoods (Thanks to MJ Hoods for the pattern!) and so far - so good. I'm makin one afra sized, so he cn look posh as the centre lol. I cn anglo indian hoods ok now (i guess) u cnt see through em, they fit the bird and the braces work (miracul) Afra dont complain with hers. Her hood is a squashy type, cus she's hood shy, and she is pretty relaxed in this hood. Its kinda rubbish, the braces dont do up propper and r too short, the chin strap is fallin to peices and I've redone the eye bits of the hood 2 times now.

I'm tryin to learn the turks top knot - to no avail o course! I like makin hoods, but recently, havnt got the time, just wait till the hols- he he he!!
