Here's a couple of lures I made this week; my Perlin loves them, just got to try the bigger one with the Saker.
I based them on the Northwoods ones but these are fully filled.............. first picture is the patern. I draw 2 of theses nose -nose then cut the shape out. Sew up from the base of the tail all around to the other side then fill with 'Kapoc' or soft toy filling, (this keeps it soft so as not to damage the birds feet, and they can grip it well). Finish off and treat. Prior to sewing up, fit a small eyelet and cord for the food attachment. Once sewn up, hole and fit eyelet for the swivel...........................

Kapoc or a fibre type stuff from Fabric Land, £3 a bag, enough to do about 30 of them plus!!!

No I haven't.!!

You can put silicone inside them... It helps on weight, it's easy and flexible! That's how I made mines...

The one on the right weighs 2 1/4oz. (56.25g) and is a very nice weight to swing.

Silicone is a GREAT IDEA! It would be much easier to make my ones, as I prefer them to have a hole in the middle so the food can be seen from both sides no matter which way it drops.

Those do look cool clive, good job!

yeah, it's really easy! You just have lo leave a lit opening when you sew the lure. White silicone makes harder lures, and the clear one makes them more soft and flexible!!
