Hiya.

I live in Llanelli which is about 6- 7 miles from Swansea. I've been without a bird for a while now...have to make do with the wife  I've got a Male Harris ordered from Craig of Falconinformes which hopefully will be ready end July early August. :D

My mate and myself have flown between us, the Harris's, a male Gos and a Female spar. I must be honest, I couldn't do justice to the Gos or Spar due to a lack of time, but enjoyed seeing them hunting, especially the spar.

Just looking forward to starting again and appreciate all the help and advice the forum members freely give.

Dan

Dont live too far North of Carmarthen, are you just looking to go out hunting with some one cos bunny hunting has almost stopped due to babby bunny starting to appear. so other than a few chances at pheasant we dont have much hunting left this season. Not sure when we will start flying a long wing but that will be to kite & lure.

Hi C.H.

Yep, I realise about the time of year etc. Just wanted to know if anybody does get out for whatever reason, if I could tag along, be a go-fer, get some tips and generally just get myself back into it all before next season.

Thanks
Dan

My experience is limited over the last few years since I had to give my MH to a friend of mine when I had to move into a smaller house. I flew my Harris from 16weeks to about 3 years old. Most of the hunting was done with the help of ferrets although we did a fair bit over some land in the Gower area with my mates spaniel.

As I said in an earlier post, I didn't get that involved with the Gos or spar due to a lack of time. I attended a falconry course that used to be carried out in Pembrey Country Park which first got me hooked into the sport.

No probs with your current situation. i.e moult etc. just appreciated that you answered my post.

Thanks again.
Dan

Your welcome will probably be flying a long wing in the summer to keep from going mad before next season. Just got to find the right bird, not too far from Carmarthen.
