Just had a scan on Ginos site, UK Falcons. He's claiming to be about to produce the UKs first synthetic falcon block. Am I missing something or are the half dozen UPVC blocks in my garden made from natural products????

Hi h4wka
I don't think so, we have made synthetic blocks for nearly 10 years!

I can assure you thatdespite being an old f@%t !, my mental dexterity is as good as it always has beeen, which is not saying much I know!
The part of Bermuda I hail from, the postage to all parts of the UK mainland is usually next day and costs the same as 1st class recorded UK post! Clue... Bermuda has a several regions , including Devonshire, Somerset, Warwickshire, Hamilton & Paget. I don't come from any of these but to a neighbouring region!

Are there many falconers at Bermuda? A friend of mine is from Hamilton and he said there are no falconers. What do you hunt? I got told you have got some big Ravens flying around.

moritz I have to apologise, you will see nopw that I aam not in Bermuda, however I worked there fore a while, in the early 80's. They have a resident population of Redtails & a pair of peergrines that nested near spittles pond( or used when I was there). Officially I flew nothing, just saw lots of stuff on migration.

SUPERIOR UPVC BLOCKS

The ultimate block for falcons, small eagles and eagle owls. No cracking, no peeling varnish, no warping. Made from glossy block, solid uPVC, with stainless fittings, these blocks are totally maintenance free. In addition, they have recessed Astroturf (removable for cleaning), and can be both outdoor (with spike) or portable (with heavy plated steel base plate), using the same block. The base of the block is threaded to accept either the spike or the base plate, thus giving two blocks in one! Not the cheapest block, but the last one you will need to buy!

Made from rigid UV stable uPVC

fully wasted sides and rotating ring for loop or standard leash

Correct ring position to eliminate problems to the legs

Genuine Astroturf insert for healthy feet

Can be totally stripped down for cleaning purposes

All fittings are of 303 grade stainless steel throughout

These blocks have been designed with the principal concern being the safety of the falcon. Manufactured by a well established engineering firm in conjunction with some of the top falcon breeders in the UK, Richard Hill & Peter Gill of Falcon Mews also Dr Nick Fox of Hunting Falcons International. This block will provide years of trouble free service with total safety for the falcon.

I had a look at a very new block design the other day made of some stone material? seriously.

Couldnt fault it really other than the fact that it was an Arab Design, which i personally dont like.

Great for keeping the edges just right on those talons though!
