Hi,

Some of you may have heard about the Parahawking project in Nepal where we train birds of prey to fly with Paragliders.

Team Parahawking is getting bigger and stronger each year with more birds and more staff, and each year I like to offer somebody a unique chance to be part of this team.

Once again I am looking for a volunteer this coming season commencing mid October 2008 through to Feb/March 2009

As well as training birds for Parahawking, we also run the Himalayan Raptor Rescue project, this is a small but valuable project where we care for sick, injured or orphaned Birds of Prey.

We are looking falconer or at the very least had some bird handling experience and have a real passion for birds of prey.

You won't need to be a Paraglider although it would be good if your not scared of heights as there will be plenty of Paragliding as a passenger. We will even teach you some of the basics.

You will be working closely with me and the other members of the team on a daily basis, the work is varied, exciting and fun. You get to live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world and be part of an amazing community of Paragliders and Falconers. You also get to watch some of the most amazing Birds of Prey, wild, in their natural environment all from our own home and restaurant by the lake.

You will need to able to drive a car and be responsible for your own travel expenses to and from Nepal. We will cover your internal travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara and contribute to your accommodation costs. Nepal is one of the cheapest places to live in the world, it is possible to live on £5 per day.

If you love to travel to new and exotic countries, are energetic and adventurous and want to be a part of something truly unique then please get in touch soon as the season is fast approaching.

Scott,

I would love too! sounds like a once in a lifetime opportunity. But I don't think her indoors would be to happy with me going walk about for 6 months! Will follow thread with interest.
