Hi there,
I am currently in the process of flying my female lanner and she is doing well. I am just abought reddy to enter her and just wondered if she would take partridge. She is flying at 1.7 and is getting some good height.

:)Thank you.:)

She would take partridge but your nearly 6 weeks too early, (1st September Partridge season) so my advice would be to not enter her til then

I should imagine lanners would do the job well if you have the right ground,I tried it years ago but played at it and failed miserably! They certainly travel faster in a stoop than a partridge flies and wait on at terrific heights!Maybe this is where I failed,if you are going to hunt with her try not to make her pitch limit-less,keep her if you can to a height that is comfortable for taking game, partridge will put in at the first hurdle if hard pressed!Even on very open ground if she has to alter her stoop to a stern chase she will lose them!Hope you succeed..............

Lanners in my opinion mate if fit are brilliant on partridge, a lot of falconers fly at crow an magpie with them but i think they are at there best on partridge.:supz:
