What size is the building Bubo? Is it flat or pitched (roof trusses)?
What centres are your trusses?
goodness hawka that sounds real technical. i can do a lot of manual work (and gaz keep your thoughts to yourself  )but when it comes to terminology i aint gotta clue!! the pen will be 6m long, 3.5 wide and 3.5 high at the back and 3m at the front. i dont know what trusses are but my roof is gonna slope if that is what you mean. and i havent a clue what your last question means   you need to spell it out for me sorry.

Hi bubo, yes pitch means slope.
Trusses are the timbers that run parallel to the end walls which in turn will then support your roof. you dont want the centres (distance between trusses) to be too big or it won't support the onduline. Unless of course you are putting something on the roof first ie plywood. Hope this helps.
Sorry for coming in on your post H4wka
yep that makes sense!! cheers, once i have the trusses in i plan on putting planks that go from the back to the front all the way across and add more bits of wood in between those (so it will look like a load of squares) (i'm sorry if i'm not wording this right so bare with me) then just place the onduline on that.
does that make sense?

That sounds fine bubo, I note that your pitch is 3.5 to 3.0 back to front so you won't have any problem with water lying on it thats for sure.

No probs Goldie. The reason I ask Bubo is because I have used Onduline in the past and it has sagged between trusses. Your centres need to be no more than 14". You might want to think about replacing one or two of the panels with clear onduline to give some natural light.
hi guys thanks for you help on this. i am getting red onduline with two strips of transparent so it will be nice airy and light!! this is going to be fun!! my hubby just  when i gabble on about this that, measurements here measurements there and all my designs every where hahahaha poor guy!!
thanks a lot for the help, no doubt i will be back again

As Goldie & H4wka have said if you lleave too greater distance , onduline will sag. As they als hint , because it is solid once you put it up it i can be very dark. ( I have infact painted the underside of mine in white, to negate this. also on some mews I am building at the moment I am using 2 solid sheets(green) then 2 translucent ( these are mad eby onduline so the profiles are the same. bear in minmd you have to drill these before nailing and also they are fairly brittle compared to the solid panels) sheet and so on.
hope this helps

oh i didnt think of drilling before nailing!! good point.

You'll also need some good ventilation for air flow Bubo, onduline gets pretty warm in the sun.

Hi Bubo,
I'm in the process of building a second Mews and have just ordered more sheets of Onduline.
They come in various colours and clear, and measure 2meters by 940mm
I don't know what others on the Forum pay but what I've just ordered costs £12-99 per coloured sheet and £19-95 per clear sheet.
The first lot I bought has been on the Mews since 2001 and is as good as when I first put it there.
What I have to tell you and others that are thinking of buying it is this,
make sure it is well supported from underneath cause if not supported with a crossmember about every 2 feet or so it will tend to sag!
I hope this is a help to you,
Albie..
the onduline is more or less the same price here too. As for the aviary, it will be closed on three sides leaving the 5m stretch fully open. is that ventilated enough or should i be doing something else. the cross member is actually what i meant when i said i would be adding bits of plank in between :P . If onduline gets warm then why arent roof tiles any good? wouldnt they insulate a little more? cant you tell i'm a female hahaha just no idea :P
