ONE MALE ONE FEMALE
I have some in my garage and they breed at a amazing rate. These are house mice and shouldnt be there. I have a chicken who likes to walk in and hunt them down.
Anyway as long as you keep them very clean and feed them a varied diet they pretty much look after them selves in that department. Be warned depending on the strain you use they do stink.

I used to breed them when I kept snakes way back. I started with 2 pair and within 6 weeks I had over 300 of them!!!!!!
Main problem is they stink, unless you have a very airy garage or something your missus will have you out with them. I would rather go for rats if you're serious about it. You can always sell a few to local pet shops aswell to get a little money back or swap them with others in the shop to stop over working the females.
