If you go to the Westweald site (www.westwealdfalconry.co.uk), if there is no picture, which I don't think there is, email Brian, if you ask him nicely, I am sure he will take a picture & mail it to you........Just tell him that Lord Lucan sent you!
Also, bear in mind that 'bullet' systems are not really designed for 'permanant' use. They are generally just for use in the field. In my humble opinion, if you use 'bullets' as a full time restraint method, you are just asking for trouble, and it will probably come along sooner rather than later.

Lucky.

Bullets should be used for HUNTING ONLY and never for tethering, the best ones (quality )i"ve found are Ben Longs,£20 but quality,he has a website.

yeah was gonna say you dont really need a best quality swivel for in the field, and shouldn't be teathering with these, but its been said

Hi J

I have Ben Longs bullet Jesses....I found the leash to be a bit thin....so I replace it with one of my loop leashes .....its a very useful piece of kit out in the field....where u have freezing fingers.....and u can just slip them through the eyelets.

I believe they are sampo swivels and are connected to a thick leash.

Got to agree with LLL, Bullets for field use only, this system is far from fool proof?

But i dont see whats wrong with good old fashioned small premanent flying Jess?

I've used em for years and the one time i was using Bullets, the bloody falcon threw a wobbly at the kill and spooked bad, a problem that could have been avoided had i had Flyers attached?

Horses for courses though! :)

Adrian, I've never used the bullets myself but would there be any benefit in using them in addition to perm FJs ?. I always fly with permanent as I like to secure the bird asap, especially the eagle. Don't fancy picking him up off a kill and then trying to put bullet jesses on while he's free standing on the glove. :)

my reason for this posting is I have never used them, although every one seems to be either talking about them or using them. personally I wouldn't use them when on a perch, in fact I do not even use Aylmeris as I hate that hard brass eylet at the back of the legs for several reasons and have developed a hybrid jesse system that uses a tradional sliteed jes thjat loops back on itself and a second piece of leather that is in fact a mews jesse which is passed through the two slits( with peregrines and other falcons that are likely to 'worry their jesses' I have instead of a button at one end it has slits at both ends and once thro the slit ,it is then passed back thro itself .
hope this makes sense( but doubt it as you really need to see pics & I am not sure if I can remember how to put them on)

I make anklets with permanent flying jesses as part of the design, and use bullet jesses as well, it's useful to have something to hang onto.
