im intrested in flying game as ive resently lost my gyrsaker and was thinking of going on to fly a pere male or female or a hybrid of the pere can any more experianced gamehawkers give a basic look at training as i would be intrested to know how diffrent people train and hoe they acheive good hight position
Mitch, training a gamehawk can be made as easy or as difficult as you want to take it!The end result however is the same, the bird waits on above the falconer or dog until the game is flushed!I have trained the easy way for several plus years with various breeds and the result is always basically the same, obviously some falcons fly higher than others but they have all succeeded in the task ahead of them! Its basically all about knowing the falcon, not pushing her too hard during early lessons and timing her reward!Where are you in Brum?

Have a read of Ray Turners book "gamehawk" i think that pretty much covers everything.
The Hunting falcon by Bruce Haak is pretty good as well and a lot cheaper ;)
