I don't think there is a closed season for them, but as falconers we have a duty to do our own conservation?

We must be lucky, the place is crawling with them. I counted over 40 sat feeding in a grass field not 5 miles from home, yesterday tea time. They were all adults.

if im invited on land to control rabbit numbers shooting is the one i go for ...but most farmers are not letting you on ther land for your own enjoyment so for the risk of losing it because you wantto hunt bunnies in the winter shoot a few or be seen to shoot a few to keep every one happy i went out last night shot a few young ones about enough for a good meal for the gos and got invited to fly over about a500 hundred arcres on the joining farm as long as i shoot afew pidgeons ..of course try and scare them first  happy days :D

My mate went ferretting on a piece of land on Sunday that I've been after to fly over for months. He borrowed my nets (70) and also used his own. He used 4 ferrets (2 of mine), started at 7:30 and was home for 13:00. He did one long hedge and a small wood and returned home with 93 adult rabbits, 11 young and 6 mixy adults.
Now you know why I've been after it for months.

Johnny.
I have a male Common Buzzard which flys at between 1lb 7ozs & 1lb 8ozs. I have got a funny feeling you red will catch alot more bunnies than my Common. When I catch my first rabbit it will be fantastic an it will be plastered all over this forum. I dont think there are many people doing what I am doing because alot of people love their Harris' too much. Wish me luck.
Gary.

I couldn't agree more but it is nice to catch things and see your bird doing what comes naturally otherwise we wouldn't train to hunt.
