this is orrissa
i've just taken her over from tim as she is a bit of a problem.she's an imprint but the guy who had her tried to fly her as a caste before she had even learnt how to fly properly.so she tends to do a few passes then will fly any distance to sit. any ideas?

Firstly, what do you want her to do hunt, display or just look pretty?

I breed Luggers and have flown many, this type of behaviour is typical ofa bird that has been kept too low for too long.
My advise would be to push her up as high as she will go and then vary the flying area you use daily pushing her hard, rewarding her only from an up wind position, and multiple flights daily.
Wait till she starts kicking in? these falcons are very fast to the lure (lot faster than Lanners), just need the right fitness and motivation, must be a reason JPJ and Laurent de Bastyia likes them so much?
