DEFRA Breeder charges 2005

Hi All

Can any breeder on the forum tell us if DEFRA are charging you extra for registering 2005 raptors.... if so ...what does the new charge apply to (ie article 10 registration etc) and how much?

Also, if DEFRA are charging more, how much more are we (the buyer) expected to pay for a Raptor compared to a 2004 price?

ya got it sorted....but I was told by the breeder that i might have to pay £100 extra for her because of DEFRA charging more for A10's and the like..... just rying to find out if this is true or not!!

woah! I heard lanners have gone upto £500 male and £800-850 females! With an extra £100 on yop, you might as well get a gyr/pere lol.

lol....hey I paid at normal prices! £800 for a Lanner!!!!!! what is the world coming to !!! I bet its because Gyr/lanners are the fashion in the Gulf now... all i want want is a Lanner female....not asking for it to lay golden eggs as well!!!!

I think Defra are still at the consulting stage, I don't think anything's been fully decided yet.

where, the saying " a fool and his money are easily parted" springs to mine. Not long ago breeders couldn't get shut of them. £500 would buy a straight male peregrine and at £850 not far short for peregrine falcon. You only have to look at what are the most successful and suitable falcon species that are used in the uk are - and here's a clue, they don't include anything with lanner in them or gyr/sakers.
