Hi Chris,
I'm a bit of learner myself, new to breeding and to spars seeing as there's a limited number of people breeding them I thought i'd like to try.
I'm hoping to get a pair of youngsters this year and creche rear them together and will hopefully breed from them the following year, if not the year after.
I have spoken to a lot of people about this opinion varies greatly, some say parent reared and others suggest creche rearing them up together. Apparently there reasonably easy to breed and some people have been breeding spars for years with no trouble of the female killing the male.
It's quite difficult to get hold of parent reared spars as most of them are sold young for imprinting. Unless you can get hold of some injured wild ones as it's been suggested to me, which is a good idea, just need to be in the right place at the right time.
Finding a breeder has been difficult more so if your after 2 unrelated lines.
If you haven't got it, I recommend purchasing Hawk For The Bush, cracking book with a lot of info.
All The Best,
HH
P.S -Just like to say thanks to everyones who's helped with any queries I have had relating to breeding spars, it's much appreciated :)

Hi Matt,
How's it going?
Yeah I have, fingers crossed I have managed to sort out an unrelated pair. I was going to have to end up getting birds from different breeders a bit tricky when you want them at the same time for creche rearing. But luckily I have come across a guy who breeds from 2 unrelated lines. They sound like a good size to. Just need to wait till May so he'll have an idea on the number of eggs etc.
Cheers,
HH
