View Full Version : California Hawking Club Meet Bakersfield 09
I know we have a good few members on here from CA, so how many of you will be at the meet in bakersfield in Jan 09? I will be over from the UK. with my wife, another falconer friend and his wife. Will be there from the Tuesday night to the Sunday morning. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys and putting faces to names. I'm also looking forward to meeting a lot of old friends at the meet.
Looks like we will be on our own!

Hi Greg,
Sorry I didn't respond to this thread. Keeping up to speed with this forum is like trying to take a drink from a fire hose! I look foreward to meeting you and your companions at the CHC meet and I'll do my best to hook you up with some folks to go hawking with.
My best to you.

Greg - Good to hear you are making it to the meet. If you would like shoot me a pm prior to the meet to line up some hawking excursions.
Thanks guys, I do know a few members of the CHC and I was at the Sacramento meet the year defore last. I'm also a member of the club and although I live in the UK I hold a general CA falconry licence. So if I can talk a few of my buddies to bring a spare bird I will be out hawking with you!
Got home last night very tired and jet-lagged!
Had a great time with old and new friends. Took lots of pictures so here are a few to start off with.
I will just add a few more to see if there is any interest!
Silly me hit the submit button before I added the pictures
Will just add the ones that I have reduced in size so far
Don't ask me to name all the falcons as there were so many different hybrids!

Greg - It was great meeting you at the meet. I was Alex's friend with the tiercel. I hope that you had a great time and got to see alot of action. I have some pictures to upload as well when I get the time. Hope you can make it back next year!

I hopeso too! This was my second CHC meet and I have really enjoyed both of them. My wife came this time along with a friend and his wife they all had a great time and want to return in the future. Just a shame I couldn't bring some of your weather home with me! I still have a load of pictures to add but there doesn't seem to be very much interest!

To be fair Greg, you won't get much interest with a title like that. Perhaps you should change it to 'Very Superior Harris at CHC meeting'
Nice to hear that some of the people you met there fancy making the journey over here. Tell us more about what you all got up to:yawinkle:
Best wishes,
Tony.

OK Tony a few more pics just for you and Nick!
You see Tony I even added a HH on a small Jackrabbit!
The top two on the last page were taken at the skytrials!
Below some of the raffle prizes (there was one hell of a lot of prizes) and one taken during the Saturday night banquet.
Still got a few more so I will just put them up! The first four are of my friend Alex's Male Prairie.

Hi Greg glad you had a good time,
Is that Alex's tiercel in the last set ? did you see it in action ? (hehe! you added more as I typed)
I guess you was able to use one of his HH for some dirt hawking or did you manage to blag a falcon on this trip ?
Maybe see you over their one day.
Mike.
Still a few to come but it takes a while to reduce them to the right size!
OK just a little test name the first bird.
Forgot to upload the picture!
The file was too big so had to resize it!
The two pictures in flight are of Alex's Prairie.
