Just a quick question. I am sure i read that eagles can take 2 years to fully moult, so what does the falconer do in this time? Can you continue to fly your eagle normally, or slightly higher weight...or not at all. Also, how often do they have to moult?

It,s generally 3yrs and you just get on with it as you would any other hawk. If at the start of the season you are unfortunate that the most damaged feathers haven't been thrown, you imp in new ones.
I know already that I will have to do this after the moult cos my Goldie has trashed a full wing (every primary)

Eagles will moult every year and is best to put them to moult towards the end of march. In order to encourage the moult you need to get your bird very fit by the end of september. Once its flying hard every other day it will respond quicker to the moult. Furthermore, putting the bird into the moult every year encourages a adult plumage much quicker.
