What weight are you flying him at? Just a suggestion but seems you may need to raise his flying weight slightly as it sounds as if he is too eager.

You need to tell us a bit more mate, ie fat weight, weight now, still on creance, ect ect, but never reward for this behaviour (sp) it should only be coming when called, they soon learn, no matter how sharp they are

They all do this if your training has been to slow so he is ahead of you or if he is too keen. So put his weight up,take him off the creance and go hunting ASAP
This is the point where I take the creance off and begin hunting them. When you get your bird out in the field, he/she will pay more attention to hunting than you.

i am only assuming he is landing on your back as you walk away from him whilst on the creance.
if so, and if he is wearing a bell, when you hear him approach, lift up your hand, (gloved) and he will land there instead of your back.
if he is landing on your back / shoulders as you walk the length of the creance then he is ready to come off the creance and go free.
4 weeks is long enough time to train a HH. and he should be more than ready to go by now.
this is the point where he is very keen to reach you and he is now ready to go free. i would not raise his weight for his first free flight. keep him at 1lb 7oz. you know he will come to you instantly and it should lessen the fear for you, lol.
best o luck.
