That's pretty interesting...It's like a tree limb Bal-Chatri.
For squirrels, I use a standard size Hav-a-heart trap with the pressure pad trap door.

thats VERY similar to one i have borrowed from a friend to trap a gery living in my loft!!! not only caught that one but also to date catch another four by just leaving it under the bird table uncovered in the garden. also had a cock pheasant and a pigeon in it. its simple but very effective. Sorry i cannot stick any photos up to show you but my computer wont let me on here.

Agree - cage trap works well. Bait it wit peanut butter. Best off the ground cos hedgehogs like peanut butter too,
