Set the Kite up for the tiercel (still for sale £375 due to time wasters), only around 150ft -as soon as it was up there a passing Red Kite showed an interest and just stopped short of snatching at the lure himself - pulling away at the last second. I eventually managed to shout loud enough and dropped the height of the kite to dissuade him more - eventually he raked away and the missus unhooded Dave, from the pic you can see he takes a really steep and direct line to the kite, as he climbed the Red Kite came over and showed another interest in the lure, Dave ignored him and took it straight away.
As he landed on the floor with it a juvenile Kestrel hovered a field away before stooping and hitting a partridge that simply flew off with a slight headache! Strange how it all happens on one day!!

This is a common occurence on the landfills that i have guys on, kites and gulls always come on in to inspect the kite.

Maybe not conducive to smooth training sessions, but lovely to have all these raptors around you tending to business. :supz:

Never really thought about Red Kites on landfills before but it makes sense when you think about it.
