I think we should set up the countryside party!

I reckon we would get loads of votes, hunters, fishermen, horsey people, country men and ladies, farmers, gamekeepers........ oh and FALCONERS!

like you say the lot of em are twisted!!

im swayed towards the tories but i would be interested to discover how he is going to reduce taxes and increase public spending!!
maybe he is gonna send all the scrounging immigrants home and shoot all the doleys?

well! you never know!

Will
18-04-2005, 10:42 PM
Public spending doesn't need increasing, it needs controlling properly. You also need to weed out the rampant nepotism in local councils, stop waste in the health service ( free sex-changes, etc) and give drug addicts as much smack as they can take. Then a bit more. If they're too drowsy, I volunteer to push the plunger on 'em right now!

I also think we should be more pro-active in Europe so let's invade France!

I always used to vote. This year i am thinking i may not bother. They all tell lies or tell you what you want to hear. They all go crooked in the end. Look at the last Tory Government. They were ripping off everybody and sh*gging anything that moved including each other. Labour just as bad and they will only get worse.

The only thing is if i don't vote i can't complain i suppose. Some research me thinks. Got to be pro hunting.

I'm going to vote Tory, simple reason is our local MP has done a lot for my area. He's also a countryside supporter into his shooting etc...

On a wider issue if I remember correctly Howard was tough on crime as home secretary, which has to be a good thing. One thing I like about him he pulls no punches. He's had the courage to mention immigration which is a touchy subject and which other main parties have shied away from.

At present I can't recall anyone from the Labour party apart from Kate Hoey who sticks up for the countryside, I think she's wasted in Labour.

Also Labour claim we have more Police than we ever have, where are they!!!

Sure no party is going to please everyone but I feel Blair/Labour has had his chance and blown it, time for another party to take over and see what they can do.

A vote is not wasted, what I don't understand is why people don't vote, even if it's just to spoil the ballet paper, each to there own I suppose.

HH

Good post NEHH, I shall be voting for the tories, as I have always done, Labour have had their day, they don't want any countryside, they don't want us to farm and produce food for our own country, they would rather import and have a free and open park for all to walk over and abuse. I think that Michael Howard has his head screwed on and will actually carry out things that he has in his manisfesto, unlike Mr Blair!!! Yeah I know they all ****s£$% and are all as bad as one another, BUTat the end of the day if you don't vote, you can't complain later on when the wrong party get in!!!??? enough politics for me, lets keep falconry going in this country!!!!!!!!!

what amazes me is looking at the poll above, the Labour louts have no vote!!! BUT listening to all the tv and papers reteric they more or less have it nailed on????

I know we on here are upset about the hunting ban and perhaps that sways it. Me Im going against my staunce working class background and voting Tory for the very first time in my life

Sparrow Hawker

I wonder how accurate these predicted polls really are, it would be good if the forum's poll echo's that of the nation. It seems quite a few people are going to vote Tory for the first time.

One things for sure the conservatives seem to be getting more coverage from the media than any other party.

I see Blair claims violent crime is falling whilst the police say it's rising! To be honest how can people keep faith with him. Labour are out of touch with the british public and what's more they fail to listen to us.

They accuse the Tory's of changing policies to sway voters, well that's what a government is supposed to do, listen to the british public and act on it

Good point HH another point made earlier was that Michael Howard has the balls to stand up and say he will cut down on immigration, send em all home save loads of money then!!!!. he also said he was gonna clamp down on illegal gypsy camps.

he has picked on very awkward non PC issues to address but i think these issues need addressing. Gypsies should have to follow our laws and not make their own!! and if they don't they should be brought to justice like the majority of the population have to if we break any laws.

War in iraq, bring all our soliders home save loads of money! more for health and education services.

maybe if we get a new prime minister we will no long be the united states lap dog!!!!!!!!!! not that i got a problem with the americans!!!!

one thing i would also like to see stopped is all these bloody houses being built. dunno wot its like elswhere in the country but they are popping up all over the place. in the most innapropriate places! thing of it is they r standing empty they aren't selling, meant to be affordable housing but they are up forsale for upto and over £200,000 thats not affordable! plus the only ones with families in are the housing associations.

One more thing, Labour say they are gonna do this, they are gonna do that, how come they aint done it already?????? theyve been in power for what, 8 years?

Love to wipe that smile of Tony Blairs face he soooooooo sure he's gonna get back in!!!!!

What I want to know is how come the Countryside Alliance have not been making themselves overly heard like they promised. Does anyone know what any of the parties are going to do about this ridiculous hunting ban that is more a ban on civil liberties than any real issue? Labour only listened to townies, when what they should have done is have a referendum for people in the countryside only. If true country people want the ban then let it stand but I feel the ban would never have come into force if this did happen.

Although I agree with the comment about bringing troops home from Iraq I think I should make my view on this as well. I am serving in the RAF and although I was against this war, now is not the time to bring people home. This would destabilise the region and could jeopardise other countries. Guess what this means, HIGHER FUEL prices. We have enough trouble with tax on fuel as it is.

Undecided on who to vote for but not the present shambles.

Sparrow Hawker
22-04-2005, 02:28 PM
Mr_Colin, I'm not sure what the countryside alliance has planned, would be great if a few days before the election they had a protest march.

I contacted my local Conservative MP he said the Tories have made a pledge in there manifesto for a free vote on overturning the ban on hunting. He did say to me he's getting a lot of support from people who feel the hunting ban was unjust. This is the problem Labour, they have isolated the countryside. It was also Labour who were slow to react in the Foot and Mouth crisis.

Great points there Blackhawke. Howard does seem to be listening to the public and acting on it, lets see if he can deliver by giving him a chance and voting him in.

HH

as some of you may know i take very little notice of pollitics and or pollititions but i've decided this year to cast a vote, which will go to the conservatives or cons' for short, this is because they're the top of the forum poll, and for that reason only, this is by no means an indication that jiff is starting to take life seriously, but if one vote can help i'll try and help u guy's with mine.

I think the Conservatives are the ONLY way we are going to try and preserve our sport. What we should all do is cast a vote for them, obviously to our own ends, but that is life?

I can hear someone now saying that all politicians are liars and none really do as they promise, but at least the Tory's are not promising to remove all forms of our freedom and paths that lead to our pastime.

GO Vote!

NO to the torys as they will hit your pocket hard with interest rates and taxes.
Vote for a minority group such as UKIP or something like that. They wont win a election but it will mess up the polls.

I like the idea of given the powers back to the queen.

That is not what they are saying, and Labour has made the taxes to the higest ever!

Yes it will mess it up because Labour will still be in power and we will have more restrictions if not a ban on falconry, their track record shows this is the way they will go!

Don't make the MISTAKE!

Or show me the error of my ways here and prove it to me who is the best to vote for?

Have you heard of the saying "out of the frying pan into the fire".

This applies to this election. If the cons are not going to make the taxes higher how are they going to pay for all these wonderful things they are promising.

They all are as **** as each other. Get labour out and put the Tories in and have the ban lifted. That would be great but we will suffer in other ways because of it.

Personally I will do or vote for who ever is going to put falconry first, as you said "They are all as **** as each other." So therefore it ishould not make a difference.

You forget Labour are the ones that have JUST given us the highest taxes ever. The liberal Democrates have announced over 40 new taxes. The Tory's want to cut taxes by cutting all the WASTE that the labour goverment have implemented.

I know that ALL politicians talk BS, but we have to look at what is realistic now and I see it this way:

Blair, is lenient on sentences for criminals and more talk about crime, the Cons, promise tougher sentences and more police on the beat, which is not difficult, as they will cut the coppers red tape and save money to pay for the new chaps on the beat by doing so.

Not to mention immigration, hospitals, schools, pensions, relief for AOPs BUT most important a clear timetable for all this to happen.
