it is very easy to handle a saker,we just open its eyes in 2 days.firstly we give a water dipped chicken flesh piece for eating.but the trick is that we also add 0.5gram common salt in 100 ml water then dip chicken flesh in it for 5 minutes.just 50 grams flesh for female saker at morning meanwhile bird is still in closed eyes.At evening we lose thread just a little that bird can see only at sky level but not able to see any thing at ground level.during this position we give it at evening one fresh slaughtered pigeon.after eating we just give complete rest without any disturbance to bird for 3 hour, then we pick it up from block and touch it whole night that it become mannered for human interference.next morning we then give 100grams approximately meat
dipped in salted water and give rest again to bird for 2 or 3 hours then pick it again on hand and touch and love it frequently till afternoon.at after noon we give then again 50 gm meat dipped in salted water and give again rest for 1 hour then we touches its whole body claws and head frequently that it forget to bite or attacking.whole night we pick this bird on hand and never allow to sleep bird even for just few seconds till morning.now we give it a slaughtered pigeon on Tilwa(lure)after garbing all pigeon we just let bird for complete rest this day and in this night we give it a herbal medicine we say in Urdu ( Julaab)this medicine increase bird's hunger too much that bird become more greedy for hunting.we also care during training that bird must be fit and does not loose its weight.it is not a good trainer who loose bird's weight during training so please avoid to give any herbals medicine or less feeding cause loosing weight or fitness of bird.bird is then ready for attacking so we give a chance for saker to attack on pigeon tied in center of room or in a ground meanwhile saker also tied with a thin long rope.if hunt successful then we repeat this process again and again but every time saker attack we just give it a little piece of meat.at 7th day we release saker for attack on tied quarry.and after 12-20 days we train saker completely mannered for hunting.here is a picture of my last year saker female(Ahmer colour)

There is nothing more satisfying than trapping, training and hunting with a passage bird from the wild.

really it is our tradition and we love these ancient traditions of trapping, training hunting and releasing of our birds again into wild on end of season.

yes of course flesh or meat dipped in very slightly salted water helps to make keener but also increase weight of bird but it i not good for long time or frequent use.its better to give it in only twice in a week or little more if needed.

I have lots of falconry books and this is the best and most detailed explanation of training a passage Saker I have ever read.
