The one i know of is A1 raptor, i haven't ordered from them as to be honest i didn't see the point as i fed a balanced diet (especially quail).

I found that to HM.
I personally use Raptor Essentials supplement (£5.25) but Vetark Avimix (£5.80) is meant to be just as good.
Regards,
HH
Can somebody give me a breif discription about supplements and what, when and how much do use? can u cause damage to a bird by giving to much?

I use SA 37 but have been recomended Raptor Essentials. SA 37, I give twice a week, just dip a chick leg in then shake off the excess.
The Raptor Essentials, I've been told are mustard!!!, especially for hunting birds as it gives them a boost of energy prior to flying. I was told to dip a small piece of tidbit into the supplement half hour before flying and it works wonders. It is also supposed to help with moulting.
SA37 for me too. Afew I know use it, but opinions vary on actual amount per week. Oh, about six quid a tub.

I use MVS 30 for birds.
It is made by Vydex

I also use NUTRI-PLUS GEL.
This is made by virbac. The reason i use this is because one of the better breeders of HH in my area feeds his birds a slither of it when feeding.
It is used on all carnivorous animals.
This breeder has gained a very good reputation for his birds, he has been using this stuff for years and i suspect it must be ok.

Never used supplements, just caught plenty of quarry during the hunting season and fed the hawk off the kills during the hunting season and nearly enough to feed through the moult. Put down to moult in February and clean moulted feather perfect in late August.
All this talk of supplements doing this and that - where's the evidence of enhanced performance and noticeable results ?
I was trying desperately to get hold of raptor essentials but it was not easy to deal with the guys here so thanks to harris hawker i am now using avimix from vetark.

Any proven results over a normal quality diet ?

I used to use MVS30 but my vet recommended me to switch to Raptor Essentials. It says you can give it daily on the tub but i can give them a little bit 3 times a week. Some of my birds have been on it for over 2 years. Good moults and good condition.
I buy it direct from the supplier in 1.5kg tubs

Before using this product where your hawks moults bad and their condition poor ?

want to know the truth???????? NO.......in fact not fed supplement for a number of years now. used to do with the disply birds and through the moult but stopped and relied on a GOOD mixed diet and have never seen any different. I do feed everything tho including guts the lot in all the mice, quail, rats etc. Even fed a full baby rabbit 2 weeks back caught by the pest guys dog. The lot always goes.
doesnt prove anything tho in real terms as i have not actually done any scientific comparisons so have no issues with supps myself. just not fed em for ages.
i expect it is just like us taking vits, we dont see any real change but just does the insides good and makes us feel a bit better.

Does it not say anything on the packaging and promotional leaflets for this. I know the bird care company has had there parrot supplements scientifically proven , well that's what it says on the packet. So it must make sense there raptor stuff would be too????
I am sure Neil Forbes has put pen to about this and in one of GPJ book's he has written how even, if we think we are providing a balanced diet it seems without supplements we aren't. Ask him i think his a member.
Someone in the know has wrote it i will track it down

Not a massive fan on using supplements for young chicks, i do chuck a bit of A1 raptor in the minced meat when hand feeding chicks, but i do use loads of A1 Raptor on egg laying females, i have used Raptor essentials in the past, but this year i switched to A1 Raptor from GB, and the results are better, more eggs, stronger chicks and at the moment only lost a couple of eggs at pip,
a few years ago a lad had an imprint Gos that was showing very strange behavior, it was 20 days old and was very lively, spinning round in the imprint tank and having fits and convulsions, took it too vets and nothing wrong, we were scratching our heads to what the problem was, the gos was feeding well and was fine apart from the fits and spinning around, it was like someone on speed,
things became clear at feeding time, he proceeded to prepare the food for the gos, in a small feed bowl, he then proceeded to give 4 tsp of supplement with each feed, eh presto,
