A (presumed lost) male Harris has been caught in the Redhill, Surrey area and now resides with a falconer in the area. This bird carries a breeders leg ring only, no IBR ring and apparently has not been scanned for a microchip.

If you have lost this bird or can help in any way to locate the owner please respond.

Many thanks,
Red

Post the breeders ring no on the list, and see if anybody recognises the breeder from the ring. A local vet will scan the bird for a chip if you take it down, but ring first!!

Do you really think there are many people after another Harris's. With a little common sense the current keeper of the bird could contact the breeder and check the purchaser, I also keep receipts for all the birds I have purchased, so these could be requested. If people are worried the letter prefix could be posted only, some of these are well known breeders, so would be recognised by other people who have bought birds from them, or the breeder themselves.
I a, still surprised by the number of idiots who do not register with the IBR, or even report the loss to the. I managed to reunite 1 last year, when I contacted the owner to let him know his bird was found after 3 days, he was going to phone the IBR that evening, the bird had been recovered within 1 hour!!

Thanks for he input. I do have a chip scanner but am not near the bird to check it.

With all good intentions the lady who is holding the bird will not give me the ring number so will have to check each and every number given!!

Will report on progress.

Regards,
Red

PS. Hi Chris, it's me, Red!
