I love knives, and tend to pick up more than a few each year. They are starting to get more expensive now i appreciate steel quality
So, what do you use? post a pic or a link if you can, right now my favourite is my Kellam Puukko.
Also, what do you think a good knife should be  , personally i think SHARP, if you can't shave with it, sharpen it. Light, a short blade and good handle

Hey Gary, I've got one of those......lovely knife, it's the mutts nutts.
Had mine given to me.
Not sure it's 100% identical to that one, I'd have to find it to see.
I also have a Normark 'Super Swede'
Excellent.
I must point out though, I don't have any sort of obsession with knives like some people do.......
Regards,
LLL.

I love knives generally and always have one in my handbag, about the house and in the car. Its like clothes and shoes a girl can never have enough
I like my Whitby's as a rule but have Joker(Spain), Conaz (Italy), Mercury (Italy), Herbertz (Germany) and several custom made.
But a mate saw this link and I am sorely tempted
My mate suggested it can be my going out knife as it will match any outfit  - you men can often get too in touch with your feminine side  But then his wife wants one too - hee hee

Pretty isn't it
But on a general note I like my knives to be ultra sharp and get a few of mine professionally sharpened each year. I prefer those that have some part of them serrated and tend to get ones which are retractable or folding so I don't kill myself accidently whilst getting my lipstick out of my handbag :P
All are mainly for hunting etc but more importantly ideal for opening all those Ebay packages :D and scaring the life out of shop assistants when I get impatient watching them struggle to open a box, epsecially in Argos - obviously dressed for the office I don't look the type to pack a knife

dammit debs...how deliciously evil. If only you were half your age...LOL, bet that makes you feel old doesn't it.
That knife is pretty sexy. I always go for the fixed blades though, soo much easier to use one handed. Also, just get a good quality sharpening stone and a leather belt, can get a good edge pretty quick.
BUCK knives from the USA
Cant argue with that, and a lot less than half price too :!: will bring another one back from nafa this year :finga:

Cheeky thing you - less of the old :D
And I need to find a decent man who will keep his hands off my knife collection :P
My Notts trip keeps getting postponed but if we all meet at a local pub one evening I will shout you a coke  whipper snapper

  theres me my usual OTT friendly self and you wont come say hello
At this rate I won't be going to the fair anyway  . My two mates have let me down so I would be going on my lonesome and last week I had a bad fall and twisted my ankle so unless the rain quits my ankle won't be up to slipping all over the place at the fair, Plus the exhaust on my car seems to be falling off when it hits the fan it does it all in one shed load
Shame as I was looking forward to many offered hugs - you know us single girlies have to get hugs where we can
Your in luck I never get to Bristol so your safe - hee hee hee

debs now im feeling sorry for ya
I'm not fussed. it has to be a cheap knife so if i loose it it is no big deal. Bought a good quality knife once. Was well and truely p1ssed when i noticed that i had lost it. From then on cheap knives. Loose it no big deal.

poor debs...there must be someone who can give you a lift, bet theres more than a few willing to show you around the fair incase you slip ;)
i know what you mean GDN, but i have a sheath attached to my belt, impossible to lose. I won't use my favourite knife for anything unimportant though....i have been sad enough to bring a cheap knife and a good knife before. Only use the good one for bunnies etc, the other for anything else.

Opinels are cheap and they take a very good edge with a bit of work. Won a bet years ago that I couldn't shave with the damned thing. Won my bet: however, worst shave ever!

I know this is an older topic but I have found that the knife pictured is ideal for me I made it about 7 years ago 440 stainless steel the broad blade makes it easy to handle and it length is about 3.5 inches the handle is stag
