As this is my first moult please forgive my question. But has anyone worked out the order in which their Harris drops their feathers? Mine is not making any sense at all. I have read the books and quite brilliantly he is ignoring the rules. I've got three different primaries, a tail feather and about 5 secondaries, not to mention some little breast feathers as well. :D

My bird in her first moult didn't follow the rules either and it is quite common for the bird to retain some of there Immature plumage so i wouldn't worry.

Nich Fox's book gives info on moulting order for falcons and others, but some birds don't follow the rules.

Normally your HH will drop centre tail feathers first then work it's way outward on both sides, then primaries should drop from primary 4 inwards on both wings until complete then 3, 2 , 1.
Body feathers are all over the place.
Dont worry, this is the standard not reality!
