Send in a picture. Is it a flaked crack or a crack through and through the beak? I have heard of some folks using a type of epoxy to fix this sort of dialema. A vet should do it at the bird needs to be sedated if it is a serious crack so the glue can set and the fumes can be directed away from the birds lungs....This is only what I have heard in the past, not something I have seen.

i have used the nail repair kits that ladies use on there nails. Used to get it from the beauticians supply place. Not a fantastic epair but gives the beak strength intil the crack grows out.
Also ensure the beak is coped so there is no extra undue pressure. Speak to your vet he will be able to give you some vitamin tablets. They encourage growth, cant remember the name of them someone else on here might know.
IF the crack gets too severe you may need to feed mushed up food with no tiring in at all.

Post a picture. Some will grow out on their own, others do need attention to stop them getting worse.

thats sounds like the ones Jay they are the dog bits too, dont half makeit grow fast. Either stick one in the food or cast the bird up and stick behind the tongue

Post a picture. If it's a small crack it might be worth coping it out and effectively making it bigger but wider short term. Small cracks get food/**** lodged in them making the crack spread upwards and more of a problem to deal with.

There is nothing you can put on the beak that will heal the crack.
You can use epoxy resin to prevent it splitting more and getting worse, otherwise small ones grow out.

Rabbithawker you OBVIOUSLY have not tried it mate, I am NOT guessing it works, it does FACT!
This does not mean one must not repair the damage there and then, so I agree with your remedy, but the damage can be grown out and gone from the beak in 10 days.

Dear Cyclone,
Stop exeperimenting and go to a avian vet. The problems with most Falconers is that they visit Vets much to late. Check the website of
the AAV ( Association of Avian Vets) for a adres near you. www.aav.org
Lots of succes !!

It can't heal a crack, the beak once grown is dead and made from keratin, tha same as hair or finger nails, it cannot heal, it is dead tissue. The only way it is cured is by growing out. To maintain strength epoxy resin is used on large cracks to reduce tension and prevent things getting worse. The hoof ointment would be best used to promote hair growth on some falconers heads.

True, better than a cracked beak.

if ur worried get it checked out by a bird vet and if it bad cut up his food to make it easier for him to eat and limiting the chances of it flaking further. it could just be that he has a calcuim deficency like my lanner had
