I've flown a cast of male Harris's for the last 4 seasons, most of the time they work well together, although there is the odd squabble.
They are free lofted throught the year together, and brought out every morning to be fed, or but into my pickup for hawking later in the day.
They are not boxed for transport, but sit on a horizontal bar across the back of the truck, allowing them to look out of the window, helping to prevent boredom.
They are mostly flown following on due to the land I have, and fly rabbit and pheasant well.

flew a cast a couple of seasons back. Great fun and did excatly the same as you, transported them on a home made cage in the back. great to see em work togethor and they would land on the fist side by side always in the same order, just had one set of feild straps longer for him.

I free loft them together as they are fit and not flown in low condition, there have never been any problems in the aviary.
I believe as long as they are socialised properly there shoud be no more risk than keeping 2 dogs together, you can never say never, but been fine for the last 4 years.
They both have their own place on the fist as wightwings said, one always on the thumb, the other on the wrist.

The birds were tethered in the weathering just out of reach of eachother for the first couple of months of training. The first month was a bit of a nightmare, as they were more interested in their pecking order, and who had the highest perch than the rabbits, but once that was sorted out it was fine. I satarted off free lofting them together after thay were fed up at the end of the day, and I staayed in the avaiary with them for a while, but no problems at all, but as I said they are flown at a high weight 4-5 times a week, and are fit, so no real drive to kill each other.
