Ive had me owl 11 months and was just wondering ,do they moult in there first year and should i be putting him in for his moult .

It will start moulting soon, it does depend upun their weight and stress levels as to how soon they start. It should be losing some fluff by now though.

Not to worry johnny it will start shortly its just like its owner a bit slow :wink:

Just thinking to meself your at fat weight now ,lol
Its dropped 1 feather today bones
Ive tried to get it upto fat weight but theres no white fluffy ones come off yet .
how long will the moult last for ?

The lenght of the moult depends on the species of the bird, but there are individual variations as well, it will probably go on for 4-5 months.

The owls an african spotted ,ive got a red tail and started his moult at the end of march as well as the owl it just seems to be taking longer for the owl .
