John,

In your capacity at The Archives of Falconry, and per our conversations in the past few months regarding ways to honor Frank Beebe, I submit the following. Please do your best to get this to as many falconers as possible so they know about this unique memorial website.

As we agreed, getting many small donations will serve as a great testimony to the widespread respect and admiration that Frank earned as perhaps the premier all around falconer on this continent. We request donations of $10 - we appreciated those like you who have already committed $100 contributions to the effort.

Please check out: http://www.frankbeebe.org.

Christine and I set this up with Klara Beebe's approval. People can make contributions to memorializing Frank, or make a contribution to his wife. The first $1000 will specifically go to “The Wall of Remembrance”, at the Archives of Falconry, the remainder will be used as noted on the website. We will provide you with a list of donors when the bronze plaque in Frank’s name is ready for mounting.

In its next phase this site will allow people to share memories of Frank by sending email to us - these will be reviewed, approved and up-loaded, as received, for public viewing. Letters should be sent to frank@frankbeebe.org. We will also be accepting pictures that have something to do with Frank and use the same process of review, as for emails. We ask donors of photos to provide high quality images, and send them to: pictures@frankbeebe.org.

We will also have a section dedicated to video - as you know I have well over 8 hours of interviews of Frank, for a documentary film of his life and times. This film was shot in Vancouver, BC (2006) at or near his home. Hal Webster, Frank’s long time friend, accompanied me to Vancouver. Hal who co-created NAFA and co-authored North American Falconry & Hunting Hawks, with Frank, is also the subject of two doucumentary films.

We welcome ideas for keeping this site as an international virtual memorial to our falconer friend, Frank Beebe. Christine and I have been in regular contact with Klara and plan to keep her informed and advised as the site develops.

Frank will be sorely missed, but he will not be forgotten, because his band of brothers and sisters from around the globe will acknowledge that we have lost a legend. Some have tried to diminish Frank’s importance to the development of falconry in North America with malice and contempt. Even while these detractors live in glass houses, they cast stones at a man whose life accomplishments equal that of three men. This tribute to Frank will begin our answer.

We want this letter to go viral; we want every falconer to have five reminders to donate. We ask all falconers to send it to everyone in their address book. I look forward to sending you a list of donors and a check for $1000 to have Frank's name put on the Wall of Remembrance at the Archives of Falconry.

All the best,

Mike Dupuy

Falconer
