Dear Friends,

Everybody has it's own favourite quarry and style of flights. For me there is no substitute for Crow hunting with my Peregrine. Long spectacular dogfights in the air, wings singing in the wind. A Crow that escapes, on the last moment by turning into cover. GREAT !!

What are your favourites ??

Rob

You will never see a better flight than a Merlin ringing up with a lark in a clear blue sky. If and when it gets above the lark, the ensuing hunt is awesome.

I agree,a high game hawk on any game as the game is not important but a perlin from a high pitch at snipe is quite nice.
By the way,a perlin is way to small for crows

Tri-bred Tiercel on a pair of Kestrels was my best flight - didn't catch and never caught thank god - but loads of dumps into cover - with one Kestrel helping the other by distraction!!
Once locked on just have to forget the lure and watch the ariel acrobatics!

Merlin on a ringing skylark. In fact any ringing flight on whatever quarry with whatever hawk.

My old Saker was a cunning cow. I would fly her at crows and rooks, she would spot them a mile off and fly virtually in the opposite direction. This would allow her time to come about full-circle and get behind them.

When they least expected it, she would single one out from the crowd and pluck it from the sky.

She was an absolutely amazing bird that would really use her brain when hunting. A pleasure to fly.

i agree with hanna it dont matter aslong as its your bird . thats what its all about me thinks !!!!
we had a male kestrel that would try at pipistral bats and butter flys . and still years later we talk about it with as much exitment as any other flight by any other bird we have had .....
all the best

Just thought I'd put my two penith in here, ultimately it dosn't really
matter which raptor and quarry it is really, they are all capable of having
extraordinary flights in there own way.

I've seen alot of fantastic flights
over here and abroad both longwings and shortwings and eagles. Many
are etched in my mind .

some of my favorites are seeing a trained goldie
male catching ducks and Jacks from serious pitches in Idaho.

A little scruffy passage tiercel absulutly distroy a pigeon which
foolishly flew into his immence killing cone ( it was like it was snowing !!!) again from a super high pitch.

A couple friends Perlins in a cast flying a snipe for what seemed a long time with the little snipe finally beating them by shear wing power. (Last
Woodhall meet.)
