Worked hack sites for 3 summers with the p-fund. I've got lots of pictures if your interested.
Are there any livestock/roads near the site, we had trouble on a few occasions with these things freaking the birds out on release day and they'd take off never to be seen again. We now put electric fences around the towers to keep the cows away.

Isn't it strange how different people can be.
I have a friend in Germany who breeds pure Gyrs, he put lots of them out to hack and makes no secret of where they are, in fact the public can see them easily, there's loads of them sitting around on fences, poles etc., yet none have ever yet gone missing.
If we did it in this country they would last about 10 minutes until some 'no-good' shot, nicked or trapped them.

well the problem overhere is not the people who could trap them but to shoot them...I beleive no one knows how to trap a hawk in P. of Quebec
I already accept a certain % of lost birds at hack anyway

Here are some pictures, sorry some are out of focus.
The little duct-tape flaps are to cover the peep holes- some groups were more wild than other and would hit sides when they were still in the box if they could see the light.
