Just a quick comment.. Im not keen on ever encouraging a bird to jump off its block or bow as this is the one place where its expected to sit quietly and not jump and bate about. I use a frame or a post thats not connected with the block. Discipline is important and eaching the bird to be obedient to you rather than it just going through the motions as and when it pleases..

Im not very owlie  But I seem to recall ours had anklets and jesses once he was fully feathered..I just cant remember how many weeks he was sorry! Then he had jumping the length of the leash training followed by creance work and we used a portable a-frame in the paddock and various sturdy posts about the place..

Attach anklets and flying jesses asap.( ideally you would have fitted them as soon as owl can stand, this avoids the pulling at the ankletts and slight feather damage to legs you will likely get fitting them late) Do not be tempted to hold onto jesses untill bird is hard penned and bones are hardened. I would personally encourage bird onto fist for food call, then give food, so owl comes to ungarnished fist and recieves reward once there. Its a good habit to get into. Once hard penned she will need manning in different environments if you intend to fly it outside, I assume you do. good luck

i put anklets on @ 6 - 8 weeks if earlier they usualy tend to play and end up causing feather loss on leggs ans rashes. and should be neally fully featherd @ 10 weeks mate:)

I have found the opposite to be true, but each to his own. lol
