View Full Version : Wanted: purse nets!

Wanted for next season so I can stock up with shot free rabbits.

But I am looking for nets in white un-dyed brushed nylon. Or better still, fluorescent orange!

No, I am not kidding. What idiot decided purse nets should be brown? Rabbits usually come OUT of holes so they see the net against the sky. So it should be a light colour so it is less obvious, right?

Then, after ferretting, I want to collect up all my nets and not lose the odd one that is set against a brown background!

So why fluorescent orange? Well, they are easier for me to find and rabbits are colour blind.

OK, so where can I get 'em? This has been annoying me for years so I'm hoping starting now I might manage to get stocked up before next season!

Hi Jack, how many do you want?

About 20. But I would need to see a sample!<g>

Standard size. Is that 4ft? Too lazy to go out and measure mine. Also nylon draw cords with galvanized rings, but no pegs (I make mine out of fencing wire).

I am sure there is a market out there if you can supply.

I'm told there is someone who makes them to order advertising in Countryman's Weakly...

Make them myself?? Yes, I know it can be done but.....

Hi Jack Merlin,

You could try Bridport Nets I know they had some orange ones in stock, they always have a good supply of readymade nets in all different sizes and materials. I have found them to be very helpful to.
