whats your usual routine after the moult?? whats the fastest your bird has fallen back into the routine,,,, do you start the bird back on the ceance?? or does your bird switch back on right away..... i always start back on the line but usualy with the harris they are flying free within 7 to 10 days although getting fitness takes much longer

last year i caught her up, weighed her and then calculated how long it'd take to get her an ounce or so under her top flying weight, i stick her away again, reduce the food and pick her up when she's right. one manning session out with the dog and she was flying to the glove in the avairy. didnt even use the creance (but then i do use the ref whistle trick too)

fitness does take a while but i find that free lofted birds get fitter quicker, but then you dont need a harris to be megga fit to start catching... an older bird may well bag something on her first outing of the season

not that there is anything up with n.e.h.h way of doing things dont want to tread on anybodys toes ,on reading a few recent threads you do tend to cop for a tongue lashing if you have said something wrong :shock: all the best KEV. :butthead: :wink:
