Thank you very much to Carl for getting the posts out before Christmas. The birds love them

I'm not being funny here, but is that set-up correct?

With my Raptor post, the leash goes down through a central hole in the top of the post and is secured by looping and tying off between the small and large holes in the side of the post.
This then means that if a hawk/falcon bates, they can climb back to the top using the astroturf on the sides.
The way the picture looks is if the hawk bates, it will have enough leash to be left hanging against the smooth plastic side and possibly be unable to return to the top?
As I said, I'm not picking fault here - just an observation (and by the way, I'm a big fan of raptor-posts!)

Regards

Your completely right the leash should be tied off through the centre of the perch.

The leash is weighted in side the post and there is enough leash so if she bates she can stand on the ground and jump back up.

Wayne Tie the hawk off through the center of the perch and tie it off using the small and large hole in the side. You risk the chance of the hawk getting caught up.

All the best Carl
