Bloat in dogs is where the stomach becomes twisted and starts to enlarge.
To rectify this stitches are sewn to stop the stomach twisting.
It is common with the larger breeds.

Rabbit hawker or the other vet on here will know.

I don't know if this is the same with BOP but i presume it is.

from what i understand (and i have only read bloat in dogs) the stomach needs to be decompressed asap as being enlarged and possibly rotated it cuts off the blood to the heart. But how does it come about what triggers it off?

Excess food in stomach and weak ligament's. Hard exercise.

For example you are not meant to take a large breed dog out straight after its meal or feed it a big dinner. Two small meals twice a day.

Wheres the vets today.

I'm getting the proper results of the post-mortem in a few hours and all will hopefully be revealed.
All I have been told earlier today was it was definately something he ate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On Monday he was flown and he had 1 doc and 2 doc legs; Tuesday he had a small mouse mid-morning and I gave him a doc head and leg in the afternoon. These he went and hid. All the birds had a mouse on Tuesday and chicks, and trhey are all from the same packs and batches!!!!!!!!!
I will update everyone on my thread later.
