Trapping Sparrows :?:

What do think folks.
What is the best method to employ?

A box proped up with a stick on a string is very time consuming

I might be wrong here but I am sure that sparrows are now protected along with starlings under the general license?

Its crazy i know theres loads of the little blighters but I think the RSPB or someone like that has done a study of the numbers and has found them to be in decline?

As i said I may be wrong though!

I used to use the box and stick method when I was little, caught loads of em! ;-)

yes they are now protected, but why the hell would you want to kill sparrows anyway? I don't understand the people who shoot song birds either (don't know anyone personally). Do sparrows do any harm, or are you just looking for some extra hawk protein?

Hit the nail on the head ColdZero, Pucker natural food for raising a spar :D

I hope so!!!
What do we have to do?
Get a sparrow and starling licence in addition to the game licence and blackbird or skylark licence already required.

What a crock of ****

and the proposal also was going to protect pigeon shooting

Nah the pigeons (and corvids) have been removed due to complaints

I think there was an uproar as it stated that you had to be assured that all humane / non lethal means to scare the pigeons and corvids off your land (where they must be causing a nuisance) must be used before lethal methods are employed!
