View Full Version : Woodcock feathers
I've just plucked two woodcock and a mallard the lads and I shot last Sat. I've been told the woodcock feathers are highly prized by the flytying fraternity. Is this so, or should I bin them?

Have plucked about 40 this season and still have about 26 in the freezer and 4 in the fridge. The pin feathers used to fetch good money (relatively) as they are used by artists as fine brushes. Your welcome to have all my woodcock feathers if you want :yawinkle:

its the stiff "pin feathers" on the butts of the wings that are valued.
Thank you chaps. It's the bin then!!
