A few years ago I made a hood I called the Dayton, it had a unique "Twist" in the eye panel , similar to hood I have from Clayton Smith. I have made the "Twist" more pronounced offering a very different line and shape of the hood, this is the first prototype of the new pattern..

Pictured is the fourth prototype of the Dayton and the one I will make from this point on. It features a more Bell, Smiley face beak openng and I have added length to the back. Here is a Field Dayton on Fu my saker.
There will be many options available on the Dayton, I will be making a few over the next month and adding them to my web site.
Thanks for looking.

Hi Ken,

it looks like a perfect fit from what I can see. Very nice.
I've got to ask though, why 'Fu'?

Thanks Tony, I do like the fit,, she took to the hood immediately ,
Why Fu? She was a chamber bird and when I got her and took her out of the shipping kennel she footed me about 10 times in quick succsession Kung fu style.. The kids movie was out at the time and thought I would call her Kung FU panda,, Fu for short..

Ah. I'm glad to know I'm not the only person who struggles to think of 'proper' names for hawks:lol:

i like the shape of the eye panel:)

Thanks POP,, Clayton Smith did a panel similar in the 80's, mine is a bit more pronounced and has a narrower center panel in true Maynes fashion.. I like the hood and fit ..

Thanks DD,, I am working on a different Dayton Pattern so the customer will have the option of a narrow center panel or more traditional , both feature the same shaped eye panels.

Here is the new Dayton "Elle", it features a wider center panel than the original Dayton and is blocked differently for those preferring a roomier hood for their bird . It features the unique eye panel created by hood making legend Clayton Smith.

The Dayton "Elle" has three available beak openings, depending on the falconers preference. Pictured is the large beak opening.
All standard Dayton hoods are two colored, patterns in the center panel are either lightly tooled or carved and come with a Double sewn Center deck, many other options are available as well.

Here are two Daytons , three colored, double sewn center deck with matching wire top knot.
These are great fitting Dutch hoods and are only 85.00 US, or approx. 59 Euros or 51 GBP, plus shipping of 8.00 US. A GREAT price and a GREAT hood.
