She is too high or too low mate.

All things being equal, weight is relative. I'm a firm believer in letting the bird tell you what she wants and when she is ready. My last grouse hawk and her sister were on opposite ends of the scale. One was trained in 2 1/2 weeks and never required much weight control. She wanted to fly at a much higher weight than most falcons I've flown, for her size. On the other hand her sister required weight control and took much longer to get on the wing. For these reasons and others I refuse to weigh a falcon fresh out of the chambers. In fact the first time I put a falcon on the scales is the day after she hops to the fist to insure I don't get some idea in my head she should fly at this or that weight. In the training regeme I call to the fist 20 feet then switch to the lure. Initially the falcon is confused but a day or two of eating the meal on the lure then being hoped to the fist ends that. My falcons are called only twice during a sesson. Each time they are hopped to the fist after finishing what was on the lure. Two calls with half their rations each call does it. Once the falcon is so anxious as to come instantly the moment the hood is removed she is flown loose. Many of my birds were flown loose after coming only 20 feet to the lure because, if you can read the falcon, she is anxious about getting to the lure to eat so what's the difference between 20 feet and 200. In time the lure isn't garnished. The falcons will come instantly to the lure then hop to the fist for their meal sometimes carrying the lure up in a foot.

Good luck
