hi guys
has anybody had any "abandoned baby owls " handed in yet i had my first of the year last night (tawny),,, but all i did was get a detailed discription of where it was found and took it back and palced it in hole in a dead tree,,
its the same everyyear
it is amazing the amount of birds that are mistaken for abandonned birds. I try very hard to help educate peeps and guide them once the bird has been taken but still very many come along. For those that are interested here is a help sheet has been prepared by myself and owl experts.

rspca will just stick it in an aviary to grow old moses..dont even bother. just do like Brian did and take it back to were it was found "abandoned"
the distrage parents should soon find it
rspca are not the best for this sort of thing wightwings is right.

just a few people pick them up thinking they are lost,or abandoned.. best thing to do is just leave them be

i understand bud, its a shame if its a lost we owl and they wont let us even keep it to look after
i know a guy who had to pester the rspca for a buzzard they just left in a cage but at the end he got it , and he has looked after it well and trained it to hunt , a beautiful bird, even if its a bit lazy

its amazing how many young birds are found, and few people know the best way to help. Atleast it shows people care, but i gather your patience has run out by the end of the year. In the 5 days i did a course i think 3 birds were 'in need of rescuing' by the public...which is strange as all were just put back and it was August
