after living wild around a farm for the past 4 days this bird was eventually brought to me last night at about 11 pm.
By the sixe i would say a female, well handled and in very good condition.
NO ring and the anklets have been removed!! although you can tell by the lack of leg "fluff" she has recently had them on. She has either be set free deliberately   or almost as bad someone has decided to "liberate " her.
IBR DEFRA etc have all been informed. Area was around Portsdown Hill near Portsmouth. Any one with any inforamation please pm me.
Chris
she is really beautiful i hope she finds her home

i have emailed the pompey herald and asked them to put an ad in saying "owl found contact ibr etc" did not mention the species though  or give the ibr number
preventing "oh a barn owl , erm yes its mine...etc"

No Will Nothing. dont look like anyone wants to claim the girl
Damn shame, mate. Do you think it's another one that got too much for a novice? They'll give us all a bad name. Fingers crossed for her anyway, she looks lovely. All the best.

looks like it Will, no anklets ( tho she has had them on) and no ring........it ****es me off that if it is the case someone could just throw the bird out.
Seen it enough times before, with all sorts of animals, but it still really, really, pi$$es me off.
what will happen to her if no-one claims her?

she will be re registered to the address she is at now. I unfortuntely have no interest in her butthe lady who caught her up and brought her round has made some space for her amongst her many other owls and falcons
 oh i just remembered i'm sure the owl is mine will that be convincing enough to let her have a comfy aviary??
