I am from Spain and I plan to move out into the Nederlands within a month. I have a hibryd (gerx Saker), a harris hawk and a lanner falcon. I wonder if I can legally have my brids with me in The Nederlands (the Hague). Could somebody provide me some information about the terms and conditions to hold and to fly my birds (hunting or not)? my mail address is robermarbe@yahoo.es

I would suggest you speak/contact someone within the IAF if you have no response on here.

I can just tell how it is. In the Netherlands it is no problem to have any birds of prey as long as CITES are accompanying them. But flying and hunting is something different. For hunting you will need a hunting license, but also it is not allowed hunting anything else than either goshawk or peregrine falcon. So hybrids, harris hawk and lanner are just not allowed and can not be flown in Netherlands.

Thanks for the answers.
It is a pity... I am really happy with my three birds. Even if I could keep them with me legally I do not know if itīs worth it to have birds which will not be able to fly free from time to time. I am really concern about it. Currently I fly them everyday and I really enjoy watching them flying.
